Welcome to Greyhounds Puttin’ On The Glitz! We became Greyhound NUTS in May 2005 when our family took in our first foster greyhound, Ginger. We promptly failed "Foster 101" and adopted our new baby! Ginger has been “livin’ the life of luxury” ever since! Ginger, in an attempt to keep up with her sophisticated sense of style, and impeccable breeding, implored her new master Dawn, to come up with coats and collars befitting her new retirement status. Hence Greyhounds Puttin’ On The Glitz! was born!
The first products produced were cool coats, then later I expanded into winter coats, rain coats, collars, leads, snoods, jewelry and now pet tags! As the business grew, and being a one woman show, it became apparent that I needed to concentrate on one area of interest....so I cut back on the apparel and focused on the collars with accessories to match. All of my products are made with quality craftsmanship using the best materials available! Each product is made one at a time and special requests are welcome! Just email me with your needs and I will do my best!
I have been producing and marketing my own products since 1981 in an effort to remain at home with my children. My husband Art, and three children, Jess, Dan, and Kate, as well as myself, have been active in community service for several years working with families and kids at The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp in Ashford CT, as well as with kids with pacemakers from Boston Childrens Hospital. We also continue to successfully foster greyhounds for GRR! In addition to Ginger, we have adopted our second Greyhound, Guinness, which brings our foster failure rate up a bit!!! The family also includes Cinnamon (a Shepard mix rescue), and our cat, Carly as well as a nameless gold fish!
We regularly donate products, hold special fundraisers, and contribute proceeds to a medical fund for Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation located in Cross River NY, as well as to various other groups around the country, and around the world, such as
Scooby Medina in Spain
Galgo S.O.S. located in Denmark
and The Guam Greyhounds
THANK-YOU TO ALL WHO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT OUR ENDEAVOR!
